The Kansas Beef Council (KBC) is hosting three Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) trainings this fall. Kansas State University extension veterinarian A.J. Tarpoff will lead the sessions and provide producers with practical information on cattle handling, animal health, record keeping and transportation.
“These BQA trainings not only keep producers up to speed on current industry issues, but they also are a great review of research-based best management practices for producers to utilize on their path of continuous improvement,” Tarpoff said.
Training dates and locations are November 4 at the Pratt County Fairgrounds in Pratt; December 15 at Mankato Livestock Inc.; and December 17 at the K-State Extension Wild West District Office in Sublette. Each event will begin with a free beef dinner at 6:00 p.m., followed by the certification training at 6:30 p.m. To register, email KBC Manager of Industry Relations Weston Schrader at [email protected] or call (785) 273-5225.
