Early-Bird Registration Ends Soon For K-State Beef Stocker Field Day
The Kansas State University Beef Stocker Field Day is set for September 24 at the Beef Stocker Unit in Manhattan. Early-bird registration is $30 and closes September 10. After that, registration will increase to $40, both online and at the door. To register, click here.
This year’s program will cover a range of topics important to stocker operators, including the state of the beef industry, Theileria and its impact on newly arrived stocker cattle, proven strategies for improving stocker performance, and considerations for incorporating corn silage into growing and backgrounding programs. The program also will address mineral nutrition in calves and strategies for determining when and where to pen cattle.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with the program starting at 10:15 a.m. Attendees will be treated to a barbecue brisket lunch, along with refreshments and additional educational materials, including posters highlighting recent research.
