KLA Director of Industry Relations Cole Sjeklocha attended the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) State Summit last week in Washington, DC. The week included briefings on dairy issues from NMPF staff, as well as discussion and feedback on state-level issues impacting producers across the country.
State organizations also took time to meet with their congressional delegation on Capitol Hill. KLA, along with the Kansas Dairy Association, focused on labor issues, trucking weights, the importance of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement to the dairy industry and potential research grant opportunities for the Kansas State University dairy. The offices of Sens. Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall, as well as those of Reps. Ron Estes, Tracey Mann, Derek Schmidt and Sharice Davids all set aside time to meet and discuss these priorities.
KLA will continue to work alongside NMPF to make progress on these and other issues important to Kansas dairy producers.
