2026 KLA/K-State Field Days Scheduled

July 10, 2026

Dates have been set for the 2026 KLA/Kansas State University Ranch Management Field Days. McCurry Angus Ranch will host the August 13 field day near Burrton and the August 27 event will be held at HP Rafter Lazy T Ranch of Hoxie. Both field days will begin at 3:30 p.m. and include presentations on the history of the host ranch and a deep dive into how the operation is managed day to day.

McCurry Angus Ranch, owned by John and Melody McCurry and John’s mother, Mary, will feature educational sessions on using Halter virtual fencing collars in an intensive grazing program and combating woody encroachment. Speakers at HP Rafter Lazy T Ranch, owned by Trevor Popp and his father, Keith, will discuss rotational grazing and provide an overview of Halter virtual fencing, including its new satellite capabilities. Both field days also will feature a market outlook from CattleFax.

Each event is free to attend and will conclude with a beef dinner. The Farm Credit Associations of Kansas and Huvepharma are sponsoring the field days. More information will be posted here as it becomes available.
