New Initiative Launched To Advance Innovation In Beef And Dairy

June 25, 2026

A new initiative designed to accelerate innovation across beef and dairy production systems worldwide was launched last week by the Yield Lab Institute (YLI), a non-profit organization working to accelerate the development and adoption of technologies that improve agricultural productivity, sustainability and resilience. The initiative, called the Global Cattle Innovation Platform (GCIP), is designed to connect stakeholders across the cattle value chain to identify priority challenges and find practical solutions that can be implemented more quickly within the industry. Focus will be maintained on producer profitability, sustainability, animal health and welfare, operational resilience and global food security.

The initiative will use YLI’s HARVEST AgTech model to bridge the gap between innovation and real-world implementation by connecting producers with technical experts and investors that can help accelerate the development and commercialization of breakthrough technologies for beef and dairy production. To help guide this process, YLI announced the formation of an external advisory board comprised of respected leaders from across the cattle industry, including KLA Chief Executive Officer Matt Teagarden. The board will help shape the strategic direction of the platform, identify priority innovation opportunities and play a key role in selecting the startups GCIP will support.
