Registration Open For KLA Legislative Meeting And Dinner

The KLA Legislative Meeting and Dinner is scheduled for February 17 at the Townsite Tower in Topeka. All meetings and meals held throughout the day will take place at this location.

The day will start with a complimentary lunch at 11:30 a.m., sponsored by Equity Bank and KLA Environmental Services. At 1:00 p.m., KLA’s lobbying team will analyze bills under consideration in the Kansas Legislature. Members will have the opportunity to discuss and take positions on the bills, providing direction to staff.

The social and dinner with state legislators will begin at 6:00 p.m. All 165 members of the Legislature have been invited. Members are encouraged to sit with their representative and/or senator at dinner to discuss KLA positions on proposed legislation.

Lunch and the legislative meeting are free for members to attend. The cost for dinner is $50 per person. Online registration and hotel information are available here. The deadline for booking hotel rooms is January 20.

Several parking options are available on the day of the event: 

  • Street parking: During business hours, Kansas Ave. has free parking with a 2-hour limit. Side streets have either free or metered parking.
  • Free parking (Kansas Ave. and 4th Street): This lot is one block away and better accommodates larger vehicles. Townsite Plaza Garage (entrance off 6th Street): This garage is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with no access to vehicles allowed after 8:00 p.m. Parking is $1/hour/car.
  • Townsite Tower Garage (entrance off Kansas Ave. just south of 5th Street): Parking is $1/hour/car between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and free after 5:00 p.m. This garage will remain open until after the dinner has concluded, but parking is limited.
