October 14, 2025

The Kansas Junior Livestock Show (KJLS) presented $20,000 in scholarships to 13 exhibitors October 4, just prior to the inaugural Supreme Female Drive. These scholarships recognize students who have excelled academically, in community service and in 4-H/FFA.

Those receiving $2,000 stipends were Adelaide Haverkamp of Bern, Lakyn Huncovsky from Riley, Allyson Rietcheck of Gardner and Josi Schrader from Wells. Six exhibitors were awarded $1,500 scholarships, including Jaci Falkenstien, Oswego; Jansen Gerstner, Frankfort; Grady Gleason, Garden City; Trey Hommertzheim, Andale; Lizzy Vajnar, Hays; and Aubree Vering, Marysville. Students who received $1,000 scholarships were Jase Beltz of Canton, Rebecca Durler from Wright and Reese Grady of St. George.

Since the start of the KJLS scholarship program in 1993, a total of 411 exhibitors have been awarded $597,550. This program would not be possible without the generous support of Cargill, the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas Bill House Leadership Award, the Coonrod Family Foundation, Farm Credit Associations of Kansas, the Lattner Family Foundation, Merck Animal Health and the Terry Fritz Memorial.
