Two Kansas Producers Take Part In YCC Tour

June 16, 2025

KLA members Dustin Wootten and Daniel Berg recently participated in the NCBA Young Cattlemen’s Conference (YCC), which included 50 producers and beef industry leaders from across the country. The group gained a comprehensive understanding of the entire beef supply chain and engaged in grassroots advocacy during visits to NCBA headquarters in Denver, CO; a JBS Five Rivers feedyard at Kersey, CO; a Tyson Fresh Meats processing plant and Empirical Foods at South Sioux City, NE; the Certified Angus Beef® corporate offices in Wooster, OH; and congressional offices in Washington, DC.

Wootten, a rancher from McLouth, serves on the KLA Stockgrowers Council Executive Committee. Berg, of Montezuma, is the assistant vice president of cattle operations for Irsik & Doll. He is chair of the KLA Cattle Feeders Council and a member of the board of directors.

YCC serves as a showcase for NCBA’s involvement in policy making, issues management, research, education and marketing. More than 1,000 ranchers and feeders have graduated from the program since its inception in 1980.
