The Feeding Quality Forum, hosted by Certified Angus Beef®, is set for August 14-15 in Rochester, MN. The annual event brings together cattle feeders, cow-calf producers and other stakeholders to discuss trends and issues surrounding fed cattle production.
Presentations will be quality-focused, ranging from the growing demand for premium beef products to the need for accuracy in yield grade assessment and increased red meat yield to profitable opportunities in the Prime category for producers. Sessions also will be held on bovine congestive heart failure, conservation practices that increase productivity and marketing strategies.
Additionally, the 2025 Industry Achievement Award will be presented to Gary Smith, Texas A&M University professor emeritus in meat science. Known both nationally and internationally, Smith’s research spans carcass quality, palatability, meat safety, and packaging and retailing of red meat.
There will be a pre-event packing plant tour at Upper Iowa Beef. Tour space is limited to 30 people and the cost is an additional $50.
To register for the forum and for a complete agenda, go to www.feedingqualityforum.com. Registration is $125 before June 30 and increases to $250 through July 21. Student registration is $50.
