The KLA Legislative Meeting and Dinner is scheduled for February 19 at the Townsite Tower (534 S. Kansas Ave.) in Topeka. All meetings and meals held throughout the day will take place at this location.
The day will start with a complimentary lunch at 11:30 a.m., sponsored by Equity Bank. At 1:00 p.m., KLA’s lobbying team will analyze bills under consideration in the Kansas Legislature. Members will have the opportunity to discuss and take positions on bills, providing direction to staff.
The social and dinner with state legislators will begin at 6:00 p.m. All 165 members of the Kansas Legislature will be invited. Members are encouraged to sit with their representative and/or senator at dinner to discuss KLA positions on proposed legislation.
Lunch and the legislative meeting are free for members to attend. The cost for dinner is $50 per person. The lunch and dinner will be held in the Townsite Avenue Ballroom on the first floor. Online registration is available here.
Members are encouraged to park in the free lot on the southwest corner of Kansas Avenue and Fourth Street or in the Townsite Plaza Garage, which has direct interior access to Townsite Towers. The entrance to the garage is located on Sixth Street. Parking will cost $1.00/hour before 5:00 p.m., then is free after that time. The garage is closed to parking after 8:00 p.m. Parking also will be available in the Townsite Tower Garage, with the entrance just south of the venue on Kansas Avenue, but space is limited before 5:00 p.m. Pricing is the same as for the Townsite Plaza Garage.
