Tyson To Close Emporia Plant

December 12, 2024

Tyson Foods announced plans last week to close its Emporia beef and pork plant early next year. The company said the facility, which currently employs more than 800 people, would be shuttered around February 14, 2025, as part of an effort to increase efficiency.

Tyson stopped processing cattle at the Emporia plant in 2008. Since that time, it has been used for further processing to produce products such as seasoned and marinated meats and ground beef.
