Five students have been awarded Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF) Youth in Agriculture $1,000 Scholarships. Brody Nemecek from Iola will be a freshman at Butler Community College. He is the son of Jeff and Carla Nemecek. Sarah Sergeant from Lebo is the daughter of Curt and Karen Sergeant. She will be a freshman at Hutchinson Community College.
Three of the winners will attend Kansas State University in the fall. Max Harman from Inman will be a junior and is the son of Todd and Janell Harman. Ben Jensen from Courtland is the son of Kevin and Sheila Jensen. He also will be a junior. Caleb Stout of Cottonwood Falls will be a freshman. He is the son of Brady and Jeri Stout.
Youth in Agriculture Scholarships are funded by the KLF Club Calf Sale held each year in conjunction with the Kansas Junior Livestock Show in Hutchinson. This year’s sale will take place October 3.
