Be Sure To Attend This Week’s KLA Legislative Meeting and Dinner

February 17, 2020

Members can provide input and direction for the lobbying staff on important issues during Wednesday’s (2/19) KLA Legislative Meeting and Dinner at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and Maner Conference Center in Topeka. The meeting will start with a complimentary lunch at 11:30 a.m., where Rep. Dan Hawkins, House Majority Leader, will address those in attendance. The lunch is sponsored by Capital Federal Savings. Following lunch, KLA lobbyists will review proposed legislation for members from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Member consensus will determine whether positions are taken on individual bills under consideration in the Legislature.

Another important aspect of the event is the social and dinner with legislators starting at 6:00 p.m. This function allows KLA members to discuss issues with their state representatives and senators. All 165 members of the Kansas Legislature have been invited to attend.

Registration for lunch and the legislative meeting is free to members. The cost for the social and steak dinner is $40 per person. Registration will be available on-site.
