U.S. Senate Passes USMCA

January 17, 2020

The U.S. Senate yesterday ratified the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) on trade, by a vote of 89 to 10. It will now be sent to President Donald Trump for signing. A date for full implementation will be set once Canada ratifies the agreement, which is expected as soon as Parliament returns in late January.

The ratification of USMCA is a major win for U.S. beef producers and provides reassurance that U.S. beef will continue to have unrestricted, duty-free access to Canada and Mexico. KLA would like to thank members of the Kansas congressional delegation for their support of this agreement.
