Members Encouraged To Attend KLA Legislative Meeting

January 13, 2020

Bills being tracked by the association’s legislative affairs staff will be open for member discussion during the KLA Legislative Meeting, February 19 at the Capitol Plaza in Topeka. Following lunch at 11:30 a.m., a review of current bills under consideration in the Kansas Legislature will take place at 1:00 p.m. The social and dinner with state legislators will begin at 6:00 p.m.

KLA’s lobbying team will offer analysis of proposed bills during the meeting. Members will have the opportunity to discuss and take positions on legislation, giving direction to KLA lobbyists, who are in the state Capitol daily representing the common business interests of the membership.

All 165 members of the Kansas Legislature will be invited to the social and dinner. Members are encouraged to sit with their representative and/or senator at dinner to discuss KLA positions on proposed legislation.

Sponsored by Capitol Federal, lunch and the legislative meeting are free to attend for members. The cost for dinner is $40 per person. Online registration is available here. To make hotel reservations, call the Capitol Plaza at (785) 431-7200 and ask for the $97 KLA room rate. Reservations must be made by January 20 to receive this special rate.
