BIF Leadership Includes Strong Kansas Involvement

July 10, 2019

Kansans are active in leadership of the Beef Improvement Federation (BIF), a national organization. During the group’s recent annual meeting and symposium in Brookings, SD, Joe Mushrush, a Red Angus breeder from Strong City, was named the new vice president.

Other Kansans serving on the BIF Board of Directors are Kevin Schultz of Haviland, Matt Perrier from Eureka and Megan Rolf and Bob Weaber, both of which are on the animal science staff at Kansas State University. Weaber serves as BIF central region secretary.

BIF is dedicated to coordinating all segments of the beef industry in an effort to improve the efficiency, profitability and sustainability of beef production. The organization is a clearinghouse for developing standardized programs and methodologies for recording performance data for all traits.
