Stockmanship Tour Coming to Kansas

April 30, 2019

The NCBA Stockmanship & Stewardship Tour will make a stop September 20-21 in Manhattan. Program highlights will include low-stress cattle handling demonstrations, Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) training and facility design sessions. Among the featured presenters will be noted stockmanship instructors Curt Pate and Ron Gill.

Producers and other stakeholders can become BQA-certified by attending the event, which will be hosted by the Kansas Beef Council at the Stanley Stout Center on the Kansas State University campus. Incorporating BQA practices helps producers capture more value for their animals. It also helps reassure consumers the supply chain is providing a safe, wholesome product.

The Stockmanship & Stewardship Tour is sponsored by NCBA, a contractor to the beef checkoff; Merck Animal Health; and the checkoff-funded BQA program.
