Support Of Beef Checkoff Remains Favorable

The latest national cattle producer attitude survey showed 72% approve of the beef checkoff, which is about steady with last year. Luce Research conducted the random survey of 1,200 beef and dairy producers during January 2019.

In evaluating the checkoff’s performance in representing their interests, a large majority of producers think the program is in tune with what they want from it. The survey showed four out of five producers believe the checkoff has contributed to a positive trend in beef demand. In addition, about 73% said the program does a good job of representing their interests. The survey also indicated 68% feel the checkoff contributes to profitability in their operations.
