Kansas primary elections were held August 2, with unofficial results showing a number of KLA-backed candidates finding success. KLA appreciates members taking its endorsements into consideration when voting.
U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran won his primary race. He will have opposition in the general election. Derek Schmidt secured the Republican nomination for governor and will run against Gov. Laura Kelly in November. Scott Schwab earned the Republican nomination for secretary of state and will have opposition in the general election.
Seven of the 11 primary candidates endorsed by KLA for the Kansas House of Representatives won their races. After these results become official, members of the KLA Political Action Committee (PAC) will consider House candidate endorsements and contributions for the November 8 general election.
KLA members are encouraged to contact staff with recommendations or information on candidates. KLA PAC backs candidates who support Kansas agriculture, specifically the livestock industry, and the organization’s legislative positions. Funds used for contributions are from voluntary donations given by members. No dues revenue is used.
