Today’s Dietitian, an online magazine for nutrition professionals, recently hosted a beef checkoff-sponsored webinar featuring pediatric dietitian Katie Ferraro. The presentation paired nutrition science with practical tips on how to incorporate baby-led weaning and encourage self-feeding skills with nutrient-dense foods, like beef, to optimize healthy growth and development of young children. The Kansas Beef Council (KBC) assisted in the outreach by inviting health professionals across the state and the Kansas City metro area to participate in the webinar.
More than 1,700 health professionals from across the U.S. attended the live virtual event. Following the webinar, attendee surveys showed that 93% of participants agreed beef can safely support babies’ developmental needs and serve as the foundation for lifelong healthy eating patterns.
Programming like this is part of a broader effort by KBC to offer health professionals science-based resources emphasizing the importance of making every bite count.
