A live auction benefiting three KLA affiliates raised $24,375 last week. Held online using LiveAuctions.tv, bidders were able to procure bull sale credits, ranch equipment, one-of-a-kind items and unique experiences. Items sold to benefit the KLA Political Action Committee (PAC) totaled $21,100, with the proceeds to be used to help elect candidates for the state Legislature who support the Kansas livestock industry. The high-selling item for KLA PAC was a bull sale credit donated by Gardiner Angus Ranch of Ashland, which was purchased by K Ranch of Garden City for $5,000.
A total of $1,875 was generated for the Kansas Livestock Foundation. Topping the items sold was a Scientific Hay Conserver and Hay Maximizer bale feeder donated by GoBob Pipe & Steel and purchased by Chad Jones of Osawatomie for $1,100. Donated items sold on behalf of Ranchland Trust of Kansas brought $1,400 in the live auction. The high-selling item was a wildflower tour and fishing trip for six people donated by Bill Eastman of Topeka. Tim Connell of El Dorado was the winning bidder at $500.
Leaders of KLA and these affiliate organizations would like to thank all the donors and buyers for their generous contributions.
