The Kansas Beef Council (KBC) partnered with other agriculture commodity groups to host the Agriland booth at the recent Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. Thousands of young people and adults went through the interactive exhibit, which illustrated how food is grown and gets to the dinner table.
Visitors learned about beef production, grass, agricultural by-products, crops, dairy products, soils and much more. As examples, youth had the opportunity to sit in a saddle during a virtual cattle drive, milk a mechanical cow, ride inside a combine to virtually harvest crops, explore a soil tunnel trailer and touch various Kansas-grown grains. KBC staff was on hand, along with members of the Kansas State University Collegiate Cattlemen's Club, to answer production agriculture questions.
