Members Action Needed To Replace Overreaching Waters Of The U.S. Rule

April 10, 2019

KLA is encouraging members to submit comments before April 15 supporting the new waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. If fully implemented, the new rule would replace the onerous 2015 version, which continues to create uncertainty and confusion for farmers and ranchers.

"The 2015 WOTUS rule is complicated and illegal," said NCBA Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager. "If we want to get rid of this disastrous rule once and for all, we need cattle producers from across the country to engage on this issue and submit comments today."

KLA members can submit comments in support of the new rule by clicking here. After filling in contact information and clicking "submit," members can send a letter to EPA and the Corps suggesting the agencies fully repeal and replace the 2015 WOTUS rule.

EPA and the Corps legally are required to consider all significant comments when finalizing regulations.
