Voice Of The Chiefs To Highlight This Evening’s KLA Convention Banquet

November 28, 2018

Mitch Holthus

Registration is available on-site for the KLA Convention, which starts today (11/28) and runs through Friday at the Wichita Hyatt and Century II Convention Center. The opening banquet speaker will be Kansas City Chief’s play-by-play announcer Mitch Holthus. The Smith Center native and eight-time Kansas Sportscaster of the Year will share memorable stories he’s witnessed in sports and explain how those lessons translate to business and life. Holthus, whose presentation is sponsored by Micro Technologies and Zoetis, also will talk about prospects for the Chiefs as the team enters the stretch-run of the regular season and prepares for the playoffs.

Holthus has been the voice of the Chiefs since 1994. Prior to that, he called play-by-play for Kansas State University football and basketball. Holthus graduated from K-State with degrees in journalism and business administration.

Also on the program this evening is the live auction benefitting the Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF), Ranchland Trust of Kansas and the KLA Political Action Council. Items to sell will include a human stem cell procedure, bull sale credits from some of the state’s leading seedstock programs, western art, bale feeders and more.

In addition, 22 scholarship winners for the 2018-19 school year will be recognized. These recipients received a total of $23,500 from KLF and its partners.
