Cattle Industry Recommends Names For Next Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee

October 18, 2018

NCBA recently nominated eight individuals from the health and dietary fields for USDA to consider as it appoints the 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. According to NCBA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall, these individuals have the objectivity and expertise to review the scientific evidence and translate this knowledge to meaningful public health guidance.

Cattle producers, through NCBA, have a long history of supporting nutrition research, education and communication programs to help consumers choose beef as part of a healthy and balanced diet. Woodall told USDA the organization believes there is overwhelming scientific evidence showing dietary balance, variety and moderation, coupled with appropriate physical activity, provide the foundation for a healthful lifestyle.
