KLA leaders and staff met with the three major candidates for Kansas governor October 9 in Topeka to discuss key issues affecting the livestock industry. Members of the KLA Board of Directors, KLA Political Action Council (PAC) and KLA PAC 500 shared the association’s priorities on labor shortages, state agency leadership and cooperation, initiative and referendum, property taxes and other issues. Democratic State Senator Laura Kelly, Republican Secretary of State Kris Kobach and Independent Greg Orman met separately with the group to share their platforms and answer KLA member questions.

With election day about three weeks away, KLA members are encouraged to reach out to the officers and staff with questions about the gubernatorial candidates. KLA has not made an endorsement in the governor’s race. A complete list of KLA endorsements for Congress and the state Legislature can be found here.
