Kansas livestock foundation Scholarships

The Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF), in conjunction with Merck Animal Health and GoBob Pipe & Steel, is offering several scholarships for the 2012-13 school year. By completing the application and sending it to the KLF office, you apply for all the scholarship categories for which you qualify. Each candidate is eligible to win only one scholarship. Applicants must be graduates of a Kansas high school. Previous winners of any KLF or Kansas Junior Livestock Association scholarships are ineligible to apply, with the exception of vet students who have not received the Wheels for Bucks vet school scholarship. 2012-13 Application

A list of scholarships to be awarded and individual requirements for each can be found below. Completed applications must be postmarked by April 16, 2012.

GoBob Pipe & Steel $2,500 Cattlemen’s Scholarship - Any student entering or returning to a Kansas community or senior college in the fall of 2012, and pursuing a degree in agriculture or a related field.

• Merck Animal Health Ralgro Wheels for Bucks $1,500 Vet Student Scholarship(s) - Any Kansas State University veterinary medicine student with a career goal of being a large animal veterinarian.

• Merck Animal Health Ralgro Wheels for Bucks $1,000 Scholarship(s) - Any student entering or returning to a Kansas community or senior college in the fall of 2012, and pursuing a degree in agriculture or a related field. Preference will be given to Kansas State University and Fort Hays State University students entering their junior or senior year and majoring in Animal Science with a career goal of being actively engaged in livestock production.

The number of Wheels for Bucks scholarships awarded will be dependent upon the number of qualified applicants in each category.

• Glenn & Clyde Lindstrom Kansas Livestock Foundation $1,000 Scholarships (two will be awarded) – Any student of sophomore level or above (Fall 2012) attending a Kansas junior or senior college and pursuing a degree in agriculture. Preference will be given to students residing within the boundaries of Unified School District 400 in northern McPherson and southern Saline counties.

• Kansas Livestock Foundation/KLA Old District 4 $1,000 Scholarship - Any student whose home residence is in Clark, Comanche, Edwards, Ford, Gray, Hodgeman, Kiowa, Meade, Ness or Pawnee County, entering or returning to a Kansas community or senior college in the fall of 2012, and pursuing a degree in agriculture, e.g. Agriculture Economics, Agronomy, Animal Sciences or related field.

• Kansas Livestock Foundation Youth in Agriculture  $1,000 Scholarships (two will be awarded ) - Any student entering or returning to a Kansas community or senior college in the fall of 2012, and pursuing a degree in agriculture, e.g. Agriculture Economics, Agronomy, Animal Sciences or related field.
