RTK Photography Contest Now Open

May 2, 2024

The Ranchland Trust of Kansas (RTK) 13th annual photography contest opened May 1 and will run through September 4. Professional and amateur photographers of all ages are welcome to enter.

Photographs should showcase the natural beauty of ranching and grazing lands across the state, while also representing the mission of RTK, which is “to preserve Kansas’ ranching heritage and open spaces for future generations through the conservation of working landscapes.” Submissions can be made in the categories of landscape, livestock, people, wildflowers or other wildlife and sunrise/sunset. There also is a special category for KLA members.

Entries will be judged by a panel consisting of Kansas native Jim Richardson and representatives from RTK and KLA. Richardson has traveled the world for more than 35 years as a National Geographic photographer. He and his wife, Kathy, live in Lindsborg, where his work is featured in their store, Small World Gallery.

L’image in Wichita again will sponsor the photography contest by providing prizes to all 10 winners. Contest details and a link to enter can be found here.
